Description

"Fame" was constructed circa 1960 in Banff to a traditional larch on oak design as a lifeboat for a trawler. First motorised in 1973, under her current ownership she has been re-engined in 2020 with a Lister 2 cylinder air cooled Diesel engine and an LH150 gear box as well as a new stainless exhaust. "Fame" is in sound condition and is ready for sea, however an enthusiast may find room for further refurbishment. She comes equipped with a roadworthy trailer. The boat cannot be launched from the trailer; it has to be lifted.
In addition she has a tender, "Fortune", a Sam Devlin designed Bella 10 skiff which the owner would be prepared to sell alongside "Fame" for a slightly increased amount.
"Fame" and "Fortune" offer an ideal opportunity for the wooden boat enthusiast at a very reasonable price.
