'Golden Plover' is a gaff rigged wooden sailing boat, ideal as a day boat. She has been successfully raced in the past in Old Gaffers regattas. Golden Plover is mentioned in 'Leaves from Rowans' log by Dr R B Carslaw, a book written about family sailing on the Scottish west coast in the 1930s. The family affectionately referred to her as the 'wee plug'. This Clyde One Design is thought to have been built around 1896 and is reputed to have been built by McAlisters of Dumbarton to a GL Watson design.
