"Marguerite" was designed and built by Harry Hallberg in his boat yard in Sweden.
She is carvel construction of edge glued mahogany planking on oak frames with cast iron keel, plywood decks (epoxy sheathed), a self draining cockpit with tiller steering. She has a masthead bermudan sloop rig. Auxillary power is provided by a Yanmar 1GM10 engine. Internally Marguerite has 4 berths with maximum 5ft 10inch headroom. There is a separate heads with an original Baby Blake toilet. Her displacement is approximately 3500KG.
Marguerite has mainsail, furling genoa, spinnaker and cruising chute. With her long keel construction she is a very seaworthy boat with good reliable handling properties. Fitted with both a Seafeather wind vane and a Raymarine 2000 auto pilot, she is ready to go on extended cruises and can easily be sailed single handed.
With only 3 owners during her 63 years, Marguerite has been lovingly maintained and has given memorable, safe, fun sailing experiences. Her present owner of 24 years has circumnavigated the British Isles, circumnavigated Ireland, and sailed her extensively on Scotland’s west coast, north coast and the Orkney and Shetland Isles.
As the owner reaches his 70th birthday this year he has decided that now is the time to find a new owner who will appreciate all that Marguerite has to offer and continue the line of owners who have treasured this lovely yacht. The price reflects the present market and provides the opportunity for purchasing a capable cruising yacht at an affordable price.
