I have owned Lady Anne for 30 years, sailing on the Clyde and west coast of Scotland. She is very strongly built, I think of pitch pine on oak. She was sheathed with Ferro when I bought her and I subsequently epoxy sheathed the deck in about 2000. She has an external cast iron Ballast keel and the wooden keel is backed up with a steel hog. She is very, stiff, stable and a pleasure to sail. the engine is a Coventry Victor single cylinder diesel of about 9 hp turning a 3 bladed prop. the engine is hand start which has always suited me as the engine is easy to start and reliable. There is a new electric starter motor for it but its not fitted at the moment.
Lady Anne is rigged as a gaff cutter with mainsail, staysail and jib on wycombe martin gear. The bowsprit is off her at the moment. The accomodation has standing headroom and space for 4 berths.
I did not put Lady Anne in the water last year as age and infirmity prevent me from enjoying her and I must pass her on to her next custodian. She is an honest, faithfull boat, full of her workboat heritage.I was told by the previous owner that she was built in 1912 by Crossfields of Arnside.
