The MITCHELL 31Mk. 1 designed by Alan Hill and built by R. Mitchell & Son in Newhaven and nicknamed the 'Mitchell' has been synonymous with fisherman since the early 1970's. Over 500 were built and there is rarely a harbour in the country that doesn't have one moored. These craft are sea kindly and versatile with a large and secure cockpit and a simple accommodation layout. 'Lady Jean' is one of the last built at the Newhaven yard in 1979 and in current ownership for 42 years, She is regularly and enthusiastically maintained in exceptional condition and stored undercover every year during winter. A rare opportunity to acquire a true legend at a more than reasonable price.

FORECABIN with two berths in the 'V' - storage under. Hinged deck hatch for ventilation/escape. WHEELHOUSE which is enclosed with helm position (P) housing engine instrumentation and single lever engine control, helm pedestal seat + navigators seat. Port door to: COCKPIT - central engine box with cushion, thwart seat aft and access to a swim ladder.

Construction

GRP Hull and superstructure with mahogany interior fully lined in the cabin. The wheelhouse is enclosed with a port side door entry.

FORD POWAMARINE 120bhp 6 cylinder diesel engine with BORG WARNER reduction gearbox (2:1) driving through a conventional shaft and 3 bladed propeller. The engine has been modified to fresh water cooling with stainless steel manifold. The engine has been regularly maintained and serviced.

SPEED: Max: 11 knots @ 2500rpm Cruise: 9 knots @ 2200rpm
