Normar 7.5m Totally Enclosed Lifeboat (now 8.5m LOA)

2007 Norwegian-built and outfitted offshore lifeboat built to far beyond SOLAS specifications, complete with Bukh engine and otherwise fully sea-worthy.

Woven GRP solid upper and lower hull, with no core (a rare strength). Around 70% of mid and upper hull is original factory foam-filled and double skin. Remainder of boat manually insulated with closed cell foam and foil faced.

Exterior gelcoat recoated in 2021 with two-pack Jotun polyurethane, and the lower hull with Jotun antifoul.

Bukh DV48 turbocharged diesel engine. Original installation, low vibration, and with a pro-welded custom-made 304 stainless steel dry exhaust in 2022. Turbo professionally refurbed 2022. Engine low hours c.300 hours and always run with double filters, Mobil Delvac and treated fresh diesel. New front seal 2024. New starter and alternator 2021. Minor recent cooling issue resolved, and engine pressure reading slightly high is likely the oil pressure valve or sender needing a clean/basic service. New spare parts sourced, including new Bukh thermostat and genuine oil filters. Slight movement at stern gland interface, so likely that a new cutlass bearing is needed when boat is next out the water.

Mechanical steering and throttle performs faultlessly, and the rudder post top end is newly packed, with no leaks even in following seas.

16kg Delta anchor and rode.

6 hatches fitted into the foam-filled side benches.

Electrics expected to be sold separately, to allow a custom replacement setup by new owner.

400W flexible solar install, with one of the pairs needing replacement. 200W of rigid panels brand new – sold with or without.

Numerous custom installations, including an instruments mast, railings, and a stern platform (GRP and 316 stainless steel). At present these remain, but can be stripped out for a buyer looking to substantially change the layout.

Price is listed stripped out and without transport - so including the hull, key running gear and engine so the boat is fully functioning. Additonal configuration to be negotiated. Currently in Shetland ashore, and transport to mainland addresses is easy to arrange, but would be the buyer's job. I can connect them with good Shetland trucking/sea freight companies.
