Project description in brief:
This is an unfinished project with the majority of the hardest graft and horrible bits of restoration complete.
Exterior:
The whole boat was painstaking stripped back to bare metal, epoxy primed and top coated above & below water line (approx 300mm of flat bottomed hull to complete when raised). The whole boat would benefit from a light prep and paint over as it has been stood (International & Teamac paints supplied with sale). Portholes stripped and refitted. Teak cockpit stripped and oiled (now greyed from weathering), would benefit from a sand, oil and best re-caulked now or in future. Beautiful stain glass skylights (x2) stripped and refurbished with reinforced laminated glass protectors ready for inserting/glazing.
Interior:
2/3 of boat interior has been gutted (various successions and bodges removed, bow double bed area intact), full bilge strip, thickness tested (6-8mm) and repainted with epoxy underwater primer and 3 coats of bilge paint. The inside is now ready for a full refit inc. elecs, water etc. The 2cyl Volvo Penta engine is currently off its bed following engine bay strip down, prime & paint. It would benefit from a good service before refit (engine run before removal).
Rigging & Sails:
To the best of my knowledge all sails and rigging are present. The head of the mast is in need of repair and new leeboards would need modelling and remade from the originals.
Summary:
This is a beautiful and unique full steel Dutch Sailing Barge with fantastic lines and form, it would be a shame not to see it back on the water again. A fantastic project for someone wanting a boat with real character and value (2018 Survey, valued £30k) or alternatively an entrepreneurial repurpose - accommodation, restaurant, other.
Photos give a brief insight to the boat and restoration so far (note cover photo at sea is NOT this vessel but closest likeness found)
Very reluctant sale due to space & time. Any questions or further details please get intouch.
